We spent our last few days in London in the midst of a tube strike so getting anywhere was a long and arduous task! We managed to get out and about though (this included A LOT of walking.) We checked out the Camden Markets, this was one of the Busiest, most crazy places I have ever been and since I do not like huge crowds of tourists touching me I probably will not be back but lets call it an experience. We got some pretty sweet thai street food and basically wandered around for the morning.
We also stopped off at Harrods (on a different day) just to suss out the place - it's Basically a crazy huge department store all which has anything you can imagine, I spent most of the time drooling over the amazing chocolates and trying to steer clear of watches would send me home if I broke them! Oh and in case it's not obvious is the price of bottle of whiskey is over 22,000 POUNDS - OHMYGOD!
Another of my favorite things to do is stroll through parks! We went for a walk around Hyde Park, All which turned into a two hour trek - that place is huge! I loved it though becuase It was full of people enjoying the great outdoors and the whole place is just so green!
Today we finally arrived in Paris - Hello!
This place is HECTIC!
We found our apartment suprisingly easily, after that we were kinda like now what? We FINALLY figured out how to buy metro tickets (only We walked around for like two hours - altough it was kinda nice exploring all the little streets of Paris and we are definetly staying in an area removed from tourists).
We also had our first Paris restaurant experience, we walked in and the guy rambled off something in French, one look at our faces and he was like "English" and we were like THANK GOD - So THAT was a nice introduction to the language barrier!
We managed to stroll along the Siene and get several necessary, albeit touristy, photos of the Eiffel Tower! Actually, it's really impressive in person and so BIG!
We decided to have a home cooked / chilled night tonight (with Some French wine of course), altho finding a supermarket turned out to be the hardest thing we did all day! Hope you enjoy the photos (I think there are some good ones, I saved the best for last!
xx
