After a loooonnnnggg flight and two boring stopovers we have
finally arrived in London! The first day we decided to pretty much just wander
around, try to avoid jet lag, and see what we could find, which included plenty
of touristy things and Monopoly board names!
One of the first things we saw when we arrived here (aside from the inside of Heathrow airport) was Big Ben, which was pretty surreal and of course we took about a million customary photos (don’t worry I won’t bore you with them all!).

You will have to excuse our 'just got off a 24 hour flight' faces in most of these photos, we are still mastering the art of selfies and poses!
We then decided to check out this famous palace everyone is always on about, we walked through Green Park, which is beautiful – I am loving all the parks around London!
Buckingham Palace was pretty cool, I couldn’t believe how close people are able to get to the actual palace; if I was the Queen I would probably hate it! We also walked past Westminster Abbey, which looked amazing and we both would like to check out but decided that waiting in line forever with a million other tourists was not our idea of fun.
We did bite the bullet and hit up one total tourist icon,
the London Eye, it was actually pretty awesome, really nice views all around
the Thames (and we only waited like 15 mins, which is really what lured us in…).
Pretty sweet view!
We have had a few bank appointments, work
appointments and other boring things but have managed to fit a few beers and
drinks in amongst it all! OH and we have beaten jet lag, which I am thrilled
about.
We don’t have WIFI at the place we are staying, which I am
not thrilled about so I have to hijack it from the local Starbucks!
So far we are both loving London, aside from getting rained
on already… We will probably spend the next few days just wandering around and
checking the place out!
